Proposal for Enhanced Regulation and Innovation in the Taxi Industry
Dear Minister of Transport Jon-Ivar Nygård!
My name is Yuriy Potsiluyev and I am the founder of the innovative project “Smart Dating in Taxi”. Our project aims to solve several key problems faced by taxi drivers and passengers, as well as to create significant economic and social benefits for society. In light of recent studies and reports on the impact of taxi market regulation, including the comprehensive report “The Impact of Taxi Market Regulation – An International Comparison” by Jon-Terje Bekken and Frode Långva, I am writing to propose a number of measures and innovations that could bring greater benefits to our national taxi industry.
Project Description:
Smart Dating in a Taxi is a mobile app that connects passengers with similar interests for shared taxi rides. This service allows passengers to save up to 40% on travel expenses, and drivers can earn 20-140% more per ride. In addition, our solution helps increase tax revenue in any country where the app operates by the same 20-140%.
Main advantages:
1. Economic benefits for drivers and passengers:
- Drivers become shareholders of a joint-stock company, which allows them to make wholesale purchases of fuel, auto parts and tires at reduced prices.
- Passengers save on travel costs by choosing travel companions with common interests, creating a unique social travel experience.
2. Social and legal aspects:
- The program encourages drivers to officially register and pay taxes, increasing their social status and legalizing their activities.
- The project has a clearly expressed social component, facilitating the establishment of new social connections between passengers.
3. Technological innovations:
- Integration with mobile app APIs allows users to easily and conveniently book rides, track drivers' locations and exchange messages in real time.
Proposed solutions to current problems:
Based on the analysis of the current regulatory framework and the problems faced by the taxi industry, our application offers the following solutions:
- Reduced operating costs: Joint bulk purchases of fuel and auto parts will significantly reduce operating costs.
- Increased revenue: Higher income for drivers due to increased number of passengers and route optimization.
- Improved service quality: Our application includes a comprehensive feedback system that ensures high standards of service and security.
- Environmental benefits: promoting the use of electric vehicles and efficient use of resources, contributing to environmental sustainability.
Compliance with national and international experience:
The TØI report highlights the varying impact of taxi market regulation across countries, highlighting the need for a tailored approach to regulatory change. Our project is in line with these findings, proposing gradual and controlled regulatory changes that aim to bring about both qualitative and quantitative improvements in the taxi industry.
The deregulation experiences in countries like New Zealand and Sweden, as discussed in the TØI report, demonstrate the potential benefits of increased supply and fare differentiation. However, these benefits are maximized when combined with quality enhancements and consumer protections, both of which are integral to our Smart Dating in a Taxi project.
Conclusion:
I am confident that "Smart Dating in a Taxi" can significantly enhance the efficiency and profitability of the taxi industry, while also providing substantial social and economic benefits. I look forward to discussing this proposal in more detail and exploring potential avenues for collaboration and implementation.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
Yurii Potsiluiev
